Xano Armenter. Born in Las Palmas, 1956, to Catalan parents, Xano Armenter grew up in Balaguer (Lleida) and Vigo (Pontevedra). After studying graphic design and art at the Escola Eina in Barcelona (1973-1980) he landed in New York’s East Village. Xano worked with Milton Glaser (1981-1986) and held exhibitions in various locations in Lower Manhattan. Lives and works in Barcelona.
Influenced by both graffiti and a renewed figurative style, his painting developed an expressive urban style scored by a deep black drawing line, blending expressive sensitivity with the contemplative beauty of design.
